This salad supreme pasta salad is the ultimate crowd-pleaser! Loaded with fresh veggies, colorful pasta, and the bold flavor of McCormick Salad Supreme seasoning, it’s the perfect summer pasta salad. Tossed in a tangy, semi-homemade Italian pasta salad dressing, this easy recipe is great for potlucks, BBQs, or meal prep.

Recipe Ingredients: Salad Supreme Pasta Salad

For the dressing:

  • Italian dressing seasoning mix
  • White vinegar
  • Water
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Dijon mustard
  • Sugar
  • Olive oil

For the salad:

  • Multi colored rotini pasta
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Black olives
  • Cucumber
  • Red and green bell pepper
  • McCormicks Salad Supreme seasoning
  • Black pepper

For the pasta salad

Ingredient Notes, Substitutions & Additions

McCormick Salad Supreme: This seasoning can be found in the spice section at most large grocery stores. You can also buy it on Amazon.

Italian dressing seasoning: These are the little packets you find near all the salad dressings. My favorite brand is the Good Seasons Zesty Italian Salad Dressing Mix.

Dressing: The semi-homemade Italian pasta salad dressing is so delicious. However, in a time crunch, you can use a bottled Italian dressing. Our favorite is Ken’s Northern Italian Dressing.

Vinegar: Regular old white vinegar works perfectly. You can also use white wine vinegar if you’re feeling fancy!

Protein boost: Add grilled chicken, pepperoni, salami, or even chickpeas to make this salad a bit more filling.

Expert Tips

  • Make ahead tip: This pasta salad can be made a day in advance. Assemble the pasta salad and keep the dressing separate. Drizzle on the dressing and shake on the Salad Supreme right before you’re ready to serve.
  • Cool completely: Make sure you cool the pasta completely before assembling your salad so the veggies stay nice and crisp.
  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days. I like to reserve a bit of the dressing to spruce up leftovers. The pasta can soak up a lot of the dressing as it sits in the fridge.

Ingredients
  

For the dressing

  • 2 .7 oz. packets of Italian dressing seasoning mix such as Good Seasons
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2/3 cup olive oil avocado oil works, too
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated plus more for sprinkling

For the pasta salad

  • 16 oz. multicolored rotini pasta
  • 2 3.8 oz. cans of sliced olives
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup diced cucumber, diced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 3 tbsp McCormicks Salad Supreme seasoning buy on Amazon
  • freshly ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Cook the pasta: Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and rinse to stop the cooking. Cool completely.
  • Make the dressing: While the pasta is cooking, make the dressing. Add all dressing ingredients to a small bowl or medium-sized jar (these mason jars work great!), and whisk or shake until the dressing ingredients are well combined.
  • Assemble the salad: Add the cooled pasta, olives, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and bell peppers to a large bowl. Drizzle on the dressing, add the Salad Supreme and toss well to combine. Add freshly ground black pepper and more Parmesan cheese to the top.
    Cover and refrigerate for an hour or so (optional).
