Recipe Ingredients: Creamy Tahini Dressing

  • Tahini
  • Soy sauce
  • Rice vinegar
  • Honey
  • Sesame oil
  • Salt
  • Water

Ingredient Notes, Substitutions & Additions

Tahini: Tahini is a creamy paste made from ground sesame seeds. It can be found at most large grocery stores, usually near the international aisle OR where you find nut and seed butters. If you can’t find it at your grocery store, you can also buy it on Amazon, of course!

Honey: You can substitute maple syrup to make this dressing 100% vegan.

Soy sauce: I like to use low-sodium, if possible.

Additions: Some yummy additions to jazz up this dressing are a squeeze of lemon, fresh herbs (cilantro, parsley, dill, or mint), or a little hot sauce for some heat!

Expert Tips

  • Storage: This dressing will stay fresh in the fridge in an airtight jar or container for 5 to 7 days. After storing, make sure you give the dressing a good shake or stir — you may need to add a bit more water to thin out the texture.
  • Consistency: If you like a thinner dressing, just whisk in a bit more water.
  • Sweetness: Need more sweetness? Add a bit more honey/maple syrup to the dressing.

Best Ways to Serve this Tahini Dressing

This “dressing” is so versatile! Here are a few delicious ways to serve it:

  • Salads: Drizzle this dressing on any salad! It’s especially amazing on this crispy rice salad!
  • Dip: This dressing makes an incredible dip for veggies and corn chips. You can cut back on the water a bit if you want it to be thicker.
  • Roasted veggies: Drizzle this dressing over roasted veggies…yummm!
  • Grain bowls: Works great with Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, or Buddha bowls.
  • Pasta/noodles: It’s especially delicious with soba or rice noodles
